# How a recipient receives an EviPost

This guide explains what recipients typically experience when they receive an EviPost and how the certified communication is delivered through the postal process.

Exact delivery steps can vary by country, postal operator, and selected service profile. This guide describes the common recipient flow: physical delivery to the address, possible identification or delivery-attempt handling, and the postal outcomes that can be recorded.

## What an EviPost looks like for a recipient

EviPost is a physical postal communication. Unlike [EviMail](/products/namirialnotify/services/evimail), [EviSMS](/products/namirialnotify/services/evisms), or [EviNotice](/products/namirialnotify/services/evinotice), the certified content is delivered on paper through the postal process.

Depending on the service profile and the local postal operator, you may receive:

- a sealed envelope delivered to the postal address used by the issuer
- a delivery attempt at the address
- a collection or missed-delivery notice if the operator could not complete delivery in person
- a request to identify yourself before the item is handed over, where that is part of the process

The exact envelope format, courier process, and delivery confirmation method can vary.

## Before you start

Before using this guide, make sure that:

- you have access to the postal address used for the communication
- you can monitor your mailbox, reception point, or delivery address for the postal item or any delivery-attempt notice
- if the postal operator requires identification for delivery, you have an identity document available
- if you have questions about the letter content, you know who the issuer or sender is

## Receive the postal communication

1. Wait for the postal operator to deliver the communication to the address used by the issuer.
2. Check whether the operator delivers the item directly or leaves a delivery-attempt or collection notice.
3. Provide identification if the postal process requires it.
4. Accept the postal item if you want to receive it.
5. Open the envelope and review the paper document.

## If delivery is not completed immediately

Depending on the service profile and local postal workflow, the operator may not be able to complete delivery on the first attempt.

In that case, the process may include one or more of these steps:

- another delivery attempt
- a missed-delivery notice
- collection at a postal office or designated pickup point
- a reported unsuccessful delivery outcome if the process cannot be completed within the service limits

Follow the instructions shown on any postal notice you receive.

## Accept or refuse the delivery

In some postal flows, you may be able to refuse the communication when the operator attempts delivery.

If that happens:

1. Accept the item if you want to receive the communication.
2. Refuse the item only if you do not want to receive it.
3. Follow any instructions given by the postal operator.

If the postal operator reports the refusal back to the process, that refusal can become part of the recorded EviPost outcome.

## What to expect from EviPost

EviPost is designed for physical delivery rather than digital interaction. In the standard recipient flow:

- you receive the communication as a paper document
- you do not need to click a link or sign in to Namirial Notify to receive the content
- the recorded evidence focuses on postal handling, delivery, failure, or refusal outcomes
- the exact timing depends on postal operations rather than immediate digital delivery

## Expected result

You receive the certified communication at the postal address used by the issuer, either directly or through the local delivery-attempt process. Depending on the selected service profile and the postal operator response, Namirial Notify can record processing, dispatch, delivery, failed delivery, refusal, and final postal outcome.

## What can be recorded as evidence

For EviPost, Namirial Notify can record evidence for:

- processing of the postal communication
- printing and enveloping, where the selected service profile includes those steps
- handoff to the postal operator
- successful delivery
- failed or expired delivery outcome
- recipient refusal, where the postal operator reports it
- final postal outcome

Unlike digital services, EviPost does not focus on recipient actions after the envelope is opened.

## Troubleshooting

### I have not received the communication yet

**Problem:** You expected an EviPost, but nothing has arrived yet.

**Cause:** The item may still be in postal processing, in transit, or waiting for a delivery attempt.

**Solution:**

1. Wait for the normal postal delivery window used in your area.
2. Check your mailbox, reception point, or building reception for any missed-delivery notice.
3. Contact the issuer if you need confirmation that the item was sent to the correct address.

### I received a missed-delivery or collection notice instead of the envelope

**Problem:** The operator did not hand over the communication directly and left a notice instead.

**Cause:** The operator may not have been able to complete the delivery attempt in person.

**Solution:**

1. Read the instructions on the postal notice.
2. Follow the indicated collection or redelivery process.
3. Bring identification if the operator requires it for pickup.

### The postal operator asked for identification

**Problem:** The operator requested identification before handing over the item.

**Cause:** Some service profiles or local delivery rules require identification of the addressee or recipient.

**Solution:**

1. Provide the requested identity document if you want to receive the communication.
2. Follow the postal operator instructions if additional verification is required.

### I want to know whether refusing the item is recorded

**Problem:** You need to understand whether a refusal will be reported in the process.

**Cause:** In some EviPost flows, the postal operator can report refusal as an outcome.

**Solution:**

1. Assume that refusal can be part of the recorded postal outcome when the operator reports it.
2. Contact the issuer if you need clarification about the implications for the business process.

### I have a question about the letter content

**Problem:** You need clarification about the document or requested action.

**Cause:** Namirial Notify and the postal operator handle delivery and evidence, but the business content comes from the issuer.

**Solution:**

1. Identify the issuer or sender information shown in the communication.
2. Contact the issuer directly for clarification or next steps.
