# ID Self — Overview

ID Self is a seamless identity verification feature designed to simplify and secure user onboarding. Users capture a short video of their identity document, along with a selfie, in a lightweight web app—no installation required. This maintains low friction while ensuring strong security and meeting KYC compliance requirements.

Video recognition using ID Self may take slightly longer than a simple ID DOC check, as it includes checks on image quality and the match between the document and the user's face to confirm identity.

A live check is mandatory if a disposable qualified certificate (LLD – Long Lived Disposable) is issued.
