# Verifying a signed or timestamped document

**Namirial Sign** allows you to verify the validity of a signed and/or timestamped file.

You can start the verification operation in one of the following ways:

- By tapping the "Verify" button in the top menu of the Home screen.
- By entering in the "History" section, tapping on the signed document and selecting "Verify".
- By sharing the document available on the smartphone with Namirial Sign app and selecting "Verify".

File selection using the "Verify" button in the Home page can be done in two ways:

- By selecting a file from history "Choose from history".
- By selecting a file from device "Choose from device".

Verify
The Verification report is divided into two sections:

- in the top part there is a summary of all the signature and timestamps of the document.
- in the bottom part there are all the details of all the certificates used to sign and timestamp the document.

In the "Synthesis scheme" the possible statuses can be:

- OK: all the checks on the signature/timestamp passed!
- ERROR: there is at least one check not with error.
- UNKNOWN: the service to check revokation status is not reachable.

Verification report
In the footer of the app there are two buttons to allow quick actions on the verification report:

- "Share" allows to send the verification report in .pdf extension to an external app (e.g. mail).
- "Go to history" redirect to the hystory view, where it's possible to see the vedified documents, and read again the produced report:
