# Anonymize a Request

This API call allows the integrator to request an early anonymization of an onboarding request, without waiting for the automatic retention period.

Anonymization is not immediate: it is processed in batch in the background. Once triggered, the request data will be anonymized within a short period of time.

## Prerequisites

* The request must already be in a terminal state before calling this endpoint.

## Endpoint

* **URL:** `/request/{id}/anonymize`
* **Method:** `POST`

## Headers

Ensure you include the following headers in your request:

* `X-Api-Key: YOUR_API_KEY` (replace `YOUR_API_KEY` with your actual API key)

## Path parameters

* `id` (required): The unique identifier of the request you want to anonymize. This should be included in the URL path. Example: `123e4567-e89b-12d3-a456-426614174000`

## Example cURL API call

```
curl -X POST "https://test-eu-ie1-api.namirialonboarding.com/api/v2/request/YOUR_REQUEST_ID/anonymize" \
-H "X-Api-Key: YOUR_API_KEY"
```

Replace `YOUR_API_KEY` with your actual API key and `YOUR_REQUEST_ID` with the ID of the request.

## Additional notes

* **Minimum retention period:** It is now possible to configure the retention period to a minimum of 15 minutes.
* **Irreversibility:** This operation is irreversible. Once anonymization has been processed, the original data cannot be recovered.
