## Architecture Overview

Namirial Sign Enterprise features a modular architecture that orchestrates multi-party signature workflows, manages document preparation and distribution, and provides comprehensive audit and evidence management. The platform supports various signature methods and enables organizations to configure workflows matching their business and compliance requirements.

### Core Components

#### Signature Orchestration

The orchestration layer acts as the conductor of digital signature transactions, connecting document preparation, signer authentication, signature execution, and evidence generation to automate end-to-end signature workflows. This integration reduces handoffs, minimizes friction, ensures consistent cross-jurisdiction compliance, and accelerates transaction completion.

#### Signature Methods

**Simple Electronic Signature (SES)**

Click, draw, or type signatures for basic signing needs. These methods provide quick and convenient signing options suitable for low-risk transactions and internal approvals.

**Advanced Electronic Signature (AES)**

Multiple signature methods including:

- SMS OTP signature with one-time password verification
- Handwritten electronic signature with biometric capture (requires compatible Signature Pad or Tablet PC with Pen)
- Local certificate signature using smartcards or tokens
- Remote signature methods with strong signer authentication

**Qualified Electronic Signature (QES)**

Highest level of legal validity with:

- Remote qualified signing via Namirial's remote certificate infrastructure
- Disposable certificates for single-use qualified signatures
- Integration with external qualified trust service providers via the plugin framework — enabling connectivity with providers such as A-Trust, Swisscom, Aruba, Infocert, and others
- Support for regional and national QES schemes

#### Workflow Engine

**Sequential & Parallel Workflows**

The workflow engine uses a **stage-based model**: stages are executed sequentially in sort order, while recipients within the same stage act in parallel. The `requiredRecipientCompletions` setting on each stage enables group signing scenarios (e.g., 2 out of 5 recipients must complete before the workflow advances). This combines sequential approval chains with parallel signing within each stage.

**Delegation Support**

Enable signers to delegate signature authority to authorized representatives through the NSE web application. Delegation is configured via the user's account settings and maintains a full audit trail. Note: delegation is a platform-level feature and is not currently programmable via the Integration API.

**Template Management**

Create reusable signature templates with predefined workflows, signature field placements, and approval routing. Templates accelerate consistent process execution and ensure compliance with organizational standards.

#### Document Preparation

**Interactive Designer**

The NSE web application includes a visual Designer for placing signature fields and form elements on documents. Fields can be positioned precisely and configured with properties such as required/optional status. Via the Integration API, field placement is fully programmable using page coordinates and field task definitions.

**Multi-Format Support**

Process PDF documents with visual signature placement. Support for various PDF standards including PDF/A for long-term archiving requirements.

**Data Capture**

Collect additional information through configurable form fields. Supported field types include text inputs, checkboxes, dropdown lists, list boxes, attachment uploads, links, and read-confirmation fields (at file, page, or area level).

**Branding**

Customize the signing experience with organization logos, colors, and styling through the NSE web administration panel. Branding is configured at the organization level and applies to all signing sessions for that tenant.
