# Configure two-step verification

Manage the email codes and authenticator apps used for additional verification with password sign-in.

## Before you begin

[Sign in](/products/mynamirial/manuals/login) and open [Security](https://my.namirial.app/security). Keep access to the email inbox and authenticator devices involved in the change.

The screenshots show the English interface in the demo environment. Select an image to view it at full size. Browser and device prompts may differ from the examples.

## Read the verification status

In **Two-step Verification**, the first row shows the overall status. The other rows show email verification and registered apps. The overall **ENABLE** button and the **ENABLE** button beside **Email** are separate controls.

| **REMOVE** beside an app | Removal of that registered app. |

## Enable email verification

1. Select **ENABLE** beside **Email**.
2. Open the **OTP Mail** message in your account inbox. Use its code within the stated validity period; the example email specifies **300 seconds (5 minutes)**.

1. Return to **Two-step Verification** and check the email row: **DISABLE** is the action shown when email verification is enabled.

## Add an authenticator app

1. Select **ADD DEVICE** in **Two-step Verification**.
2. On **Enable two-step authentication**, open one of the apps listed by the setup screen: FreeOTP, Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator.
3. Scan the QR code displayed in your own setup session. If you cannot scan it, select **Can’t scan the QR code?** and follow the alternative instructions shown.
4. Enter the app’s current code in **One-time code**.
5. Enter a recognizable **Device Name**. The example uses **MyMobile Google Auth**.
6. Review **Sign out from other devices** and select it if you want to request sign-out from other devices.
7. Select **Complete setup**.

Keep the setup QR private: it contains the information used by the app to generate your codes.

### Check the registered app

The app appears under its device name with **Time-based One-time Password via App** and a **REMOVE** action. The example below shows an app registered and both the overall verification status and email verification enabled.

## Enable or disable overall verification

Use **ENABLE** or **DISABLE** on the first row of **Two-step Verification**, then complete any steps shown. Return to this section and check **Two-step verification is enabled** or **Two-step verification is disabled**. Check the individual methods as well as the overall status.

## Remove a verification method

- **Email:** select **DISABLE** beside **Email**, enter the requested email code and select **Confirm deletion** when prompted.
- **Authenticator app:** select **REMOVE** beside the intended device, enter its app code when requested and complete **Confirm deletion** when prompted.

Afterwards, check the email action or confirm that the intended app entry is no longer listed. Keep another usable sign-in method available before removing one.

## If verification does not complete

Use the code for the method and account specified on the screen. Check spam for email codes and use the current app code. If **Can’t access your verification method?** is displayed, follow the options offered there. Check the settings after returning to your account before treating a change as complete.
